Elizabeth: Дегенеративная миелопатия - Degenerative Myelopathy, DM Описание Дегенеративная миелопатия собак (ДМ) –тяжёлое прогрессирующее нейродегенеративное заболевание, приводящее к параличу нижних конечностей. Заболевание вызывается нарушением проводимости мотонейронов спинного мозга вследствие дегенерации нервных окончаний. Впервые ДМ собак была описана более 35 лет назад как спонтанно возникающее заболевание спинного мозга у взрослых особей. Считалось, что оно характерно только для породы немецкая овчарка, поэтому его также называли миелопатия немецких овчарок. Позже ДМ была выявлена ещё у ряда пород – вельш корги пемброк, боксёр, родезийский риджбек, чесапик-бей ретривер. Сегодня более 50 пород собак в зоне риска, в том числе и китайская хохлатая собака. Первые признаки заболевания проявляются уже у взрослых собак, у большинства – в возрасте 8-14 лет. На начальных стадиях у животного наблюдается потеря координации, затем развивается атаксия нижних конечностей. Длительность заболевания в большинстве случаев не превышает трёх лет. На последних стадиях миелопатии у собаки практически отсутствуют рефлексы задних конечностей, наступает паралич. Затем поражение распространяется уже на верхние конечности. При этом проявляются признаки повреждения верхних мотонейронов, что ведёт к восходящему парезу всех конечностей и общей мышечной атрофии. Наступает полный паралич конечностей собаки. Для дегенеративной миелопатии характерен аутосомно-рецессивный характер наследования. По причине того, что многие заболевания спинного мозга могут иметь схожие клинические признаки, без ДНК-тестирования окончательный диагноз денеративной миелопатии можно поставить только посмертно после проведения гистологического обследования. Основная причина развития ДМ – мутация в гене супероксиддисмутазы 1 (SOD1), приводящая к изменению последовательности белка (аминокислотная замена E40K). Лечения ДМ не существует. Так как это тяжёлое заболевание проявляется у взрослых собак, предварительно поставить диагноз можно только с помощью генетического исследования. Диагностика Для диагностики ДМ разработан генетический тест, который можно проводить в любом возрасте. ДНК-тест позволяет выявить дефектную (мутантную) копию гена и нормальную копию гена. Результат теста – это определение генотипа, по которому животных можно разделить на три группы: здоровые (гомозиготы по нормальной копии гена, NN), носители (гетерозиготы, NM) и больные (гомозиготы по мутации, MM). Проведение ДНК-теста позволит снизить частоту рождения больных собак. Генетический тест можно сделать в России.
